i like the scenery. Looks like a quiet country crossing. I think there was no other place to put the SORS sign.

Believe it or not, but there's going to be a crossing coming soon from Missouri that TrainmanKight got that has the exact same setup, except the lights are 12"x20" instead of 12"x24", and there's one WCH mechanical bell instead of two GS e-bells. It is gated though.

And the crossing is pretty new, only about a year old or so...

Looks like a quiet country crossing.

Unfortunately, it's more than quiet.
It's nearly dead.

By looking at neighboring crossings, it appears the crossing is on a very lightly used branch line, which dead-ends about 3 miles to the southwest.

I see what you mean. The tracks look a bit grassy. I dont understand the upgrade then. It looks fairly new. I hate it when railroad do that, they upgrade signals on crossings that get low usage.

From Mill St. in Grand Rapids (near the teardrop crossing) it looks like there is some kind of railroad museum in town. You can see a dilapidated steam locomotive from the crossing.

Looking south from Ludwig Rd. (north of the river bridge) you can see a railroad speeder car on the tracks.

At that RR museum thing, they have red lettered crossbucks with that buckeye thing under them....

The track continues west from the museum to Saylor/Pratt Lane*, where on satellite view, there's some kind of customer. It's also where it ends.

*At the crossing, heading southbound, the road's name changes from Saylor Ln. to Pratt Ln.

I pulled the FRA History for a couple crossings on that line. Even going back to 1/1/1970, this line was never rated at 'More than one movement per day'. It probably had its heyday in the 20s or even before. The rail appears to be old as
