This crossing next door is also active too!

Some nice equipment in that area! Also, here's some defect detector work going on:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7136913 ... 312!8i6656

Damaged crossbuck:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.8118391 ... 312!8i6656

Straight back to the L&N here, though the L&N-era searchlight and pure L&N install at the crossing is likely no more:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.8704106 ... 312!8i6656

A nice classic crossing with a Safetran Type 3 e-bell:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.866296, ... 312!8i6656

A nice pure 1980s CSX install with an interesting light arrangement on one of the signals:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.8057857 ... 312!8i6656
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.8060962 ... 312!8i6656
Would certainly be cool to see in action.

Another classic crossing, this time bell-less!
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7676822 ... 312!8i6656

A very old L&N signal with the original split cast-iron crossbuck!
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7653718 ... 312!8i6656

Another classic bell-less install:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7663134 ... 312!8i6656

An interesting set-up here, especially for the parking lot, which has a set-up similar to the 1980s install above:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.766378, ... 312!8i6656
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7665026 ... 312!8i6656
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7667367 ... 312!8i6656
Based on the positioning of the crossbuck and the "front" lights, it appears that it protects this side road:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7665295 ... 312!8i6656

A crossing with only one gate, which is a median signal:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7679758 ... 312!8i6656
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7679831 ... 312!8i6656

Unusual placement for the lone crossbuck here:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7691572 ... 312!8i6656
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7693107 ... 312!8i6656

A very nice pair of classic L&N-era cantilevers:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7769528 ... 312!8i6656

More classic signals, though a bit odd to see what appears to be a pair of old RACO/Safetran cantilevers on what's most likely an ex-L&N line:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.773698, ... 312!8i6656

Another classic L&N crossing:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7792214 ... 312!8i6656

Classic crossing:

Another classic crossing, though with an e-bell:
https://www.google.com/maps/@36.0551118 ... 312!8i6656

(These may have been posted before, I can't remember.)

Still there as of November 2018!

I have yet to get out to these crossings. I haven't had time at the moment though.

I'd probably put them on a very high priority then, especially the one with 8 inch lights and a mechanical bell.

If I were to guess, I'm thinking this is an old SCL install that once had 8 inch lights before it was upgraded to Safetran 12x24s by CSX in the late 90's/early 2000's

Those lights may even date back to the 1980s! Although I'd say 1990s. They're a little too faded to be from the 2000s.

Probably late 90s/early 2000s. One is a darker-colored one that I believe Safetran made in the early to mid-2000s.

And based on the orientation and design of the bases, I'd wager that's most likely an old ACL install, as the ACL appears to have typically oriented their bases away from the road, while the SAL typically oriented them facing the tracks.

Heh, I never noticed the base orientation on SAL/ACL signals. At least both companies have roots planted in my area for me to check out.

I've never seen a relay case attached to a signal before, the bracket is also very strange...

What company is this?
https://www.google.com/maps/@44.5344082 ... 312!8i6656

Found a pretty cool US&S install, although sadly the signals were replaced.
