ABCL?
Cough, Automatic Barrier Crossings Locally Monitored (ABCL)

It's a British crossing thing. I said it because of the lights for the tracks.

Those where standard practice with American Signals up to the 1970's. It served as a more decorative finish for Crossing Signals.

Active "Dangerous" crossing in Memphis, TN:

I don't think I've seen that much vandalism on a relay case though:
https://www.google.com/maps/@35.1767926 ... 384!8i8192

Another active "dangerous" crossing up north:
https://www.google.com/maps/@35.1797935 ... 312!8i6656

The reason why both crossings are dangerous is because both are in very rough areas. If I ever went out there in person, I probably shouldn't risk getting photos of the crossings there...

I guess it's not as possible to do today because of how large the forum has gotten but back in my day I spent hours reading this site to learn about signals and what the parts were. :TUP2:

Not to mention, we had Elton. He'd quickly correct you on terminology. "Mast flashers" anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Elton was somewhat a little before my time (some after), but he (and Kight) were surely fun to have around. :Tongue1:

Anyways, here's an active one in Hapesville, GA:
