Of course, it isn't helped by the fact that all-incandescent gated crossings seem to be getting rather hard to find on the NS these days, though that might be due to the fact that NS started really going through and restriping or replacing all of their older gate arms after they adopted LEDs, so many crossings now feature NEG or RECO LED gate lights as a result.
Honestly, the diagonally striped gates seem to be rather hard to find these days, especially on Class Is and even on little-used lines like the CSX Dothan Sub!

Either way, it was certainly early enough that a few LED installs were done with Invensys Rail gate mechs.ZachL wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2019 6:18 pmThe answer to the first part of your question is literally in the quote block.NathanFromEngland wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2019 11:28 amAnd plus, i don't mean to go off-topic here but didn't NS only start using LED's as far back as late-2014? Appears that the gate masts were replaced since the pictures for the site were taken, no more clear LEDs.

Remember this unique signal?

It's no more, sadly SunRail has upgraded the crossing!
Though the real question i'm asking is why put two gate lights on a pedestrian gate mounted to a nearby gate mechanism...?
i also couldn't find the old post i made on it a little while ago.

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Definitely a shame, since that was a nice, classic SAL signal. Also, interestingly enough, between 2011 and 2013, the original US&S lights there were replaced with Safetran 8 inch lights (along with the cats-eyed crossbuck on the other signal, which looks to be more of an old ACL-style signal, IMHO).NathanFromEngland wrote: Sun Aug 11, 2019 5:41 am Remember this unique signal?

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
I mean, they did reuse the SAL cantilevers at Church Street and the crossing to the west of there, but when i saw the videos i felt a bit irritated by the layout the crossing has now, im not OCD or anything, but sometimes i do find old and new being used at the same time.freebrickproductions wrote: Sun Aug 11, 2019 12:23 pmDefinitely a shame, since that was a nice, classic SAL signal. I'm not particually too sure if thats the RACO bell that is used on Church Street, will need to look. At least it wasn't replaced in the upgrade!
