*originally recorded on 7-22-19*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 8 inch lights, 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 8 inch lights, 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

On July 22nd, I got on up and went out to document the crossings along the Dothan Sub between Troy and Montgomery. When I arrived at this crossing to document it, I saw the signal maintainer here so I recorded him testing the crossing just to get a video of it, since I likely wouldn't ever get to see a train here. The signals themselves are pretty nice, being a 1970s SCL install that is still mostly original. At some point in the 1980s, the Seaboard System replaced the gate mech on the right-hand signal with a newer Safetran one, and then, in the early to mid 2000s (it appears), both of the mechanical bells that were here were replaced with the current GS Type 2s. The most recent change is that sometime after 2013, the gate on the far side was replaced, though I think the gate lights were already LED by then. For some reason, the 2 Tracks signs are mounted above the crossbucks here, which is rather unusual. The gate light closest to the gate mech on the near signal also has a broken lens on the backside of it, which I pointed out to the maintainer.
They/Them for me, please.
