*originally recorded on 7-26-19*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights with General Signals LEDs, 1 Modern Industries 12x24 inch light with a GE Dotted LED, 1 Modern Industries 12x24 inch light with a Harmon Dotted LED, and a (dying?) Modern Industries mechanical bell.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of Harmon 12x24 inch lights with General Signals LEDs and a dead WCH mechanical bell.
The crossing here is a pretty decent one. It appears that the crossing originally had a pair of MI cantilevers installed by either the SBD or CSX, maybe late-SCL (most likely the SBD though, if I had to guess) in the 1980s. However, in the 90s (if I had to guess), the closer cantilever was knocked-down and replaced with the current Harmon cantilever. Then, sometime after 2000, the crossing got an LED upgrade, with a few having been replaced since then. The far signal also lost a visor sometime earlier this year, it appears.
This is the only crossing along the line with two mechanical bells, and sadly, the closer one is dead. The far MI bell still works, though it's a bit hard to hear. However it seemed to be a bit weak sounding when I heard it in person, so it's probably gonna go next.
They/Them for me, please.
