Brinson-Airbase Road, Brinson, GA
*originally recorded on 7-30-19*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights, a WCH mechanical bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
This was the fourth crossing I caught A724 at. This crossing is a pretty nice one, being pretty much a pure SBD install. Not entirely sure how the Safetran mechanical bell got here, but it's nice to see either way (I'm guessing it was either re-used from some older signals that had been here, or was left-over from when the SBD was still using Safetran and happened to be installed here). Both bells sound pretty nice, though when the gate arms start to lower, the Safetran definitely struggles pretty badly.
The right-hand signal has an extra hole on the mast where it appears some lights had been originally mounted. Not sure if the side lights were originally located here, but if they were, they were likely moved to make them more visible from the dirt road that comes off to the right here.
This crossing is located on the eastern edge of Brinson, with my camera facing away from the town.
They/Them for me, please.
