What’s funny is that the gateless signals still have empty light brackets

Why does everyone copy my signature?

OG signal collection signature, I think. :LOL2:

Yea, they were. Undoubtedly the new signals would've originally had 8 inch lights.

Quite an odd crossing layout.

Double Diamonds.
https://www.google.com/maps/@31.3270166 ... 312!8i6656

Late 90's/Early 2000's NS installation (Could even be early 90's but there is a GS E-Bell)
https://www.google.com/maps/@31.3265708 ... 312!8i6656

This crossing lacked NS DOT Tags in 2014, wonder if they were stolen?

The typical Norfolk Southern light exchange.
2007: https://www.google.com/maps/@31.298303, ... 328!8i1664
2014: https://www.google.com/maps/@31.2983164 ... 312!8i6656

Invisible railroad crossing.

Active crossing.
https://www.google.com/maps/@31.0112317 ... 312!8i6656

Is this supposed to be some ready-to-go spare gate part?
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.7586134 ... 328!8i1664

Of course, not a Dead End sign just a STOP sign telling me to STOP and turn around, real nice.
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.5437406 ... 328!8i1664

Active crossing, the nearby cantilever bases wiring is exposed.
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.3598353 ... 312!8i6656
Close up.
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.3598788 ... 312!8i6656

What happened here? Crossing resurface in progress?
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.3447645 ... 384!8i8192

Reused GRS light brackets?
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.3014893 ... 384!8i8192
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.3014317 ... 384!8i8192

What's with the gap between the column and the bell?
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.2885131 ... 312!8i6656

That is a long gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate.
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.2863932 ... 384!8i8192

This isn't the kind of railroad crossing i expect to see! Where is it?
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.2763515 ... 384!8i8192

(There was a crossing here until a few years ago)

Looks like this crossing was closed when the factory nearby closed down.
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.270295, ... 312!8i6656

This is a very weird place to put "Norfolk Southern" in.
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.2242424 ... 507,19.29z

Why are the lights red? I mean there is construction but why though?
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.2045421 ... 384!8i8192

What's going on over there?

Actually, to me, that looks more like an old SOU install that's had the lights and bell upgraded at some point in the 2000s.

Welcome to southeast, where the MUTCD is banned. :LOL3:
IMHO, it's more likely that there had been some GRS Lex-C 12x20s mounted their originally.

Likely a 5 inch adapter for a bell with a 4 inch base that had been there originally.

To control traffic on the bridge due to it being down to one lane while the work's happening, it appears.

Sarcasm. It honestly feels that way sometimes with how badly many local road agencies do things around here though...
