Looking up the DOT number on that first crossing, apparently that was the Thermal Belt Railway and, according to the FRA, was officially closed in 2017.

According to Wikipedia, the only thing left along the line is a small transloading operation:

They/Them for me, please.

Nope, that's a different crossing. Check the background scenery to make sure it matches up.

Oops, looked like similar equipment so I assumed it was the same crossing, and it was also late so I was tired, sorry about that.

Abandoned spur in Wichita Falls, Texas:

Only trace of track ever being here is the crossing grade:

Wonder what happened here? https://www.google.com/maps/@30.2632557 ... 312!8i6656

Hopefully they reused those signals because they were less than 10 years old when they were removed.

Remnants of an old spur in Georgetown, Texas:

Turns active after that.

Found this abandoned spur in Independence, MO
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.106915, ... authuser=0
Note, this spur once served the Independence Power and Light power plant in the 70's when the plant had coal service via train. The spur came off of the UP River Subdivision ( Which is east of Independence near the ammunition plant).
This spur along with the Active Pixley Spur was on the news back in 2014 as the city wanted to put in a commuter rail in. They also mentioned about bringing back the unused Rock Island St. Louis Subdivision, but plans must've fell through and they didn't put in the commuter rail.
Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.

Looking at past imagery, it appears that it sees occasional use, but it's mostly unused.

I also noticed a rare "Do Not Climb" sign on the right cantilever. It seems like regardless, all crossing cantilevers are illegal to climb on unless you are a signal maintainer.

And based on my logic, I'm actually certain that the crossing is now out of service.
