Scott Ave #1 Independence, MO
Finally was able to catch a train at this crossing. Sorry if I haven't been active as much, but I'm back to posting my crossing videos on the forum now, but anyway this crossing has an interesting backstory. This crossing used to have incandescent lights ( like all the crossings on the Sedalia Sub) as well as a safetran mechanical bell. Sometime around 2009 or 2010 I want to say, the lights were retrofitted with UP/ Electro-Tech led lights and the safetran mechanical bell was replaced with a slow ringing wch electronic bell. For some odd reason the wch e bell died in 2014 and was replaced with a gs type 2 e bell. It's unknown how the wch e bell died since most of the other wch e bells that were installed around 09 or 10, or even in 2011 still work to this day. Kinda odd. Also on a side note, this is the first time I ever heard a gs type 2 in person. I will try to get another video of this crossing on the other side sometime in the future.
Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.
