Re: Some flat sounding bells
The bell on this crossing sounds very weak, most of the sound is just the motor trying to hit the bell's gong. As of 2016 i believe that the bell has been replaced.

A GS Type 1 heard at 0:45 in this video sounds bad, first one I've seen do this outside of Michigan:
They/Them for me, please.

Re: Some flat sounding bells
That bell has since been fixed as me and my friend noticed some stuff wedged into the gong. We managed to remove it from the bell. (I know that's considered tampering with railroad property. I do apologize for doing that) Luckily we managed to get what was removed out of the bell and it rings fine now. I have filmed this crossing again with its bell fixed, but for some reason YouTube won't let me upload it.
Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.
