Signal bridge converted to crossing signal?

Post by luke »

While looking at photos of NS 5414 for another thread I'm doing, I came across this!

A look on Street view reveals there's a diamond intersection that the train is crossing.

The high cantilever is so trains on the perpendicular track can pass under it!

Those one's with the short cantilever almost look as though they could have been wig wags at one time. Maybe they just re-used the post and cantilever?

They probably were wigwags back in the day and just reused them as small cantilevers. The one on the far end from the 3rd link I can understand because of the telephone pole, but the closest one on the 3rd link had to have been a wigwag at one time.
