*originally recorded on 3-18-20*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights with a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights.

After catching the ballast train just south of Vincent, I finished-up documenting the crossing before chasing it north. Thankfully, the train had to slow way down on the north side of Vincent as it approached the town of Sterrett, which let me be able to beat it to this crossing.

The signals here are also pretty nice. These ones are more gateless signals from the Central of Georgia, and like the other crossings along this line, have also had several upgrades to them. It appears that originally, this was an all WRRS CofG install, though, in the 1970s, the Southern Railway upgraded the lights here (at least on the far signal) to Safetran 8 inch lights. Then, sometime in the early 2000s (it appears), the closer signal had its 8 inch lights replaced with a mixture of older and newer Safetran 12x24 inch lights. The crossing then remained unchanged up until between 2008 and 2009, when the original WRRS mechanical bell here was replaced with the current General Signals Type 2. The crossing remained unchanged once again for a few more years up until sometime between 2014 and the present, when NS finally replaced the 8 inch lights on the far signal with the current Safetran 12x20s.
Thankfully, however, the crossing has managed to retain both of its original split crossbucks, which is quite nice to see. There's another crossing up in Leeds that has one more, but I haven't recorded it yet. There might also be a few others along this line down south of Sylacauga that I haven't found yet with split crossbucks, so I may have to see about finishing-up documenting the crossings along the P Line in the future. Maybe combining it with another trip to the CSX WofA Sub was well...
There's also quite a few crossings along AL 25, it appears. Especially between Leeds and Winton.
They/Them for me, please.
