Interesting light contraption on top of a railroad crossing signal in Lakeland, Florida.

A railroad crossing that has been closed off for an unknown reason, I'd assume the line here becomes dead after the crossing.

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
I think the ACL did that on at least some of their gateless crossings, to let train crews know the signals were operating. One of the crossings I documented in Headland, AL, featured a pair of lights like that:NathanFromEngland wrote: Fri May 08, 2020 8:23 am Interesting light contraption on top of a railroad crossing signal in Lakeland, Florida.

Also, here's an active crossing in Victoria:

Looks like quad gates were originally planned here, but were never actually installed.

Metro, why do you keep removing Mechanical bells?!

A bit more unusually, appears that it would've been a 3-quad.TrickyMario7654 wrote: Thu May 14, 2020 12:43 am Looks like quad gates were originally planned here, but were never actually installed.

In spirit of this interesting find, I went to check out the Boca Raton Railroad Museum at the old FEC station.
Sure enough I found this ancient FEC signal, I believe it's a GRS product, except for the bell. That's probably an old WRRS Bell.
