Old LaGrange Road #3, Buckner, KY

*originally recorded on 5-27-20*

Signal on the left: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights and an NEG electronic bell.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights and a Safetran mechanical bell.

After catching Q688, I went out to Lee Street to meet-up with Ethan and wait on Q574. However, it turned out that Q574 had just passed through the crossing, so Ethan and I chased it on out to Buckner. Here we saw it fly through the town with a pair of ES40DCs for power.

This crossing is another nice one, featuring an almost-pure SBD Safetran install at it! It appears that the only change here was the original Safetran mechanical bell on the left-hand signal was replaced at some point a bit more recently with an NEG e-bell. However, thankfully, the Safetran mechanical bell on the other signal still remains and sounds quite great! Hopefully it remains here for a good while longer, since it's the last Safetran mechanical bell along the LCL Subdivision west of LaGrange (no idea if there are any to the east of LaGrange).
One of the lights on the closer signal was also twisted on it, so now you have three lights all facing the same direction here. This crossing is also located at Milepost 23 along the line.
They/Them for me, please.
