*originally recorded on 5-29-20*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Transport Products Corp. gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
The bell here is a WRRS mechanical bell mounted on the relay case.
This crossing is located in a quiet zone. Trains do not blow their horns at this crossing.

After I caught, Q575 in Lyndon, I followed it over to Frankfort Avenue where I saw it was meeting Q142. As such, I hopped on back over to this crossing in Richlawn I had tried to record earlier in the day. Thankfully, it was still cloudy, which let me get a video on the side I wanted to record. Either way, here we see Q142 rolling through with an ES44AH pulling and another ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU.

This crossing is another rather nice one. Like many of the ones in this area, it appears to have originally been an L&N TPC install, though, in the 1990s, the lights on the signals here were upgraded to Safetran 12x24 inch lights. Then, in the 2000s, the far signal was replaced entirely (I'm guessing due to being struck?), though no major changes appear to have occured here since.
Thankfully, the old TPC signal on this side is still here, and with its original gate mech, so I'm quite glad to see that. Both gate arms are also still the older diagonally striped ones, which is rather nice to see, IMHO. The WRRS bell also still sounds quite healthy, so hopefully it sticks around for a good while longer.
This crossing is the only one in the City of Richlawn, which is a rather tiny town completely surrounded by St. Matthews. In fact, there's really not much more to this town other than a collection of houses, though it is very much its own town. Just on the other side of the crossing is St. Matthews, in fact, so it's easy to think that this is part of St. Matthews as well.
They/Them for me, please.
