Broadfoot Boulevard, Vidalia, GA
*originally recorded on 7-2-20*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights, 2 pair of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights, a WCH mechanical bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After chasing L781 all the way down to Vidalia, L782 looked like they were about to head back east, so we set-up at this crossing to catch them. Sadly, they were only just pulling up to it to tie down for an evening crew to take the train east, but it did cause this crossing to time out, so I'm okay with that.
The crossing here is a pretty nice one, and appears to be a 1980s CSX install. It appears to be an earlier one, interestingly enough, as the bell here is a 1st Generation WCH mechanical bell. Sadly, it's sound is rather flat and even a bit rough, but it does ring while the gates are down, which is pretty neat.
I'm not sure if the MI lights on the far signal are original or not, but they almost certainly date back to the 1980s themselves as well.
They/Them for me, please.

No major changes here as of 6-21-21, though the WCH mechanical bell here does sound at least a little bit better:
