Crossing bell wears out with very long double stack train

The bell didn't sound very healthy to begin with. I'm assuming it's a Safetran mechanical, because I think I heard something very similar to that in Rich's videos.

Can you blame it? I'd wear out too! That's got to be about the longest train I have ever seen. 
It's basically 2 trains... if you count the mid-train helper engines.
