Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a Safetran Type 2 electronic bell, an Invensys Rail gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.

This crossing also features another nice old L&N install. Unlike other crossings along the line though, this one actually managed to retain the original GRS gate mechanisms until it got an LED upgrade in 2013/2014, it appears, as the 2013 street view images of this crossing show it still having GRS gate mechanisms and incandescent lights. However, it still retains the old fiberglass gate arms, along with one of them retaining the old RECO incandescent gate lights! Like the crossing on Fox Lane in Lewisburg, TN, the Modern Industries lights here aren't original to the crossing, having been installed sometime in the late 1980s/early 1990s to replace the original 8 inch lights. The bell here sounds a bit odd as well, sounding much more like a General Signals Type 2 rather than a Safetran Type 2/NEG e-bell, though it's still rather quiet like a Safetran Type 2/NEG e-bell.

*originally recorded on 9-26-20*

This was the fourth train Ethan and I caught: CSX Q514 with an AC44CW leading an SD40-2! Even though it's another wide-cab GE leader, this train was certainly a nice change from the parade of GEVOs we saw leading on this day. The SD40-2 is also nice to see as well, shame it wasn't leading.

Went back to this crossing to get a better video of it, since the previous one wasn't the best, IMHO. Since that video though, both gate arms and the gate lights on the far signal were replaced, and the lights all got a fresh coat of paint, but no other major changes remain here. The throaty, GS Type 2-sounding Safetran Type 2 e-bell here remains for a while longer.
