CR 62, near Bear Creek, AL
*originally recorded on 12-10-20*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
This was the fourth crossing I chased NS 320 to, and it's another pretty nice one. The signals here are a pair of gated signals installed by NS in the late-1990s, but, other than the gate lights getting an LED upgrade at some point, they're still entirely original! Even more interesting is the fact that both bells here are set to ring while the gates are down; something rather unusual for an NS crossing! I'm glad they are though, especially since it lets me hear these GS Type 1s for a while longer.
Also located at this crossing is a spur that serves the business seen on the far side of the crossing.
They/Them for me, please.
