Brinson Road #2, Vidalia, GA

*originally recorded on 6-22-21*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Progress Rail 12x24 inch lights with Harmon Dotted LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 4 pairs of Progress Rail 12x24 inch lights with Harmon Dotted LEDs, a WCH Type 1.5 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and Dialight gate lights.

After watching them run back to their train, they start collecting it so Ethan and I ran off over to this crossing to record it. Seems like it took them a little while to get going, but eventually they did, so we see them come through on their way to East Dublin with the GP38-3 leading once again.

This crossing's also a rather nice little one, IMHO, even if it is a bit on the boring side. The signals here are an early 2000s RailAmerica install, and are still pretty much entirely original! In fact, the closer signal even still retains a gate arm with the older diagonal striping and a full set of Dialight gate lights. The other signal used to be the same way as well, but its gate arm and gate lights were replaced sometime after 2016. All in all, this is a great little install and I'm glad to have been able to record it, even if it's a bit boring.
Also, as a side note, it appears that while the BAYL and a few other RailAmerica-owned shortlines in Alabama and Florida were using WCH mechanical bells, the GC went for WCH e-bells on their installs around this time.
This crossing is also the easternmost signalized crossing on the Macon Subdivision. You can probably also just make-out the Brinson Road #1 crossing on the short, currently (as of the time of making this video) out of service section of the Savannah Subdivision in the background, which features a nice 1980s CSX install at it.
