After catching L782 at Minter Tweed Road, Ethan and I chased them up to this crossing and were just barely able to beat them here as they slowed down to meet L781 just to our northwest.

This crossing is another pretty nice one. It appears that originally this crossing featured a WCH SBD install from the 80s, but in the late-90s, the far signal was knocked-out by something and the GC replaced it with the current signal. At some point as well, certainly prior to 2008, it appears that one of the original 24 inch backgrounds on the closer signal was also changed to a 20 inch one, though I'm not entirely sure when this would've happened. Either way, the crossing then remained unchanged for about another decade, when the original WCH mechanical bell on the closer signal must've died and was replaced with the current Safetran Type 2 sometime between 2008 and 2012. Since then, no major changes have occured to these signals, thankfully.
I always do enjoy seeing older WCH signals like this in action, so I'm quite glad I got to record this side. The GS Type 1 on the other side's quite nice to see as well, as it's one of three left on the GC currently. Hopefully the crossing remains unchanged for a good while longer, as it's certainly a rather nice one to visit.
