Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
After looking at the various crossings around northern Birmingham (and shooting a few older traffic lights), we went back to the NS AGS South District on the west side of downtown Birmingham, just to see if anything would come. Luckily, right after we got there, I heard a horn that distinctly sounded like Amtrak, and, just a few minutes later, Amtrak 20 came through with a pair of P42DCs for power. It was nice to catch both Amtrak trains again, especially since 20 is now departing New Orleans later, IIRC.
This crossing is a pretty decent little one, if a bit boring. The signals here were installed by NS back in the early 2000s, and, outside of the gate arms and gate lights, nothing really too noteworthy has changed on them since they were installed. Still not a bad little crossing though.
