Scott Ave #2 Independence, MO

Post by KCMO Railfan »

Finally caught the KCS crossing in action. This crossing, Like Harvard Ave #2 features a gs type 1 e bell which is one of two gs type 1's left in Independence.
KCS was doing some track inspecting. For some reason they was using UP sd40N #1759 as the inspector unit. Nonetheless, I was able to finally film here even though I'm stuck with the stay at home order.
Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.

Recorded on 9-1-20. It's been awhile since I last filmed this crossing. Thankfully nothing has changed here since March when I caught that inspection train here. The gs type 1 lives on thankfully.

Recorded on 1-12-21. Another vid I took of this crossing in action with a westbound KCS grain train I chased from McCoy St. No changes have occurred here since the last time I've filmed here. Glad the GS type-1 is still here.

Finally got another video of this crossing in action with the Leotek EV series leds this crossing received at the same time Harvard Ave #2, and Northern Blvd had their lights replaced. For this catch, I decided to film on the other side for once.

Managed to film a better video of this crossing in action today. No major changes have occurred here since I last filmed here in January.
