My first ever bell only crossing I have filmed in action! One of Two bell only crossings in the city of Odessa as well. I went over to the Odessa to meet up with my friend Landon. Since there was an eastbound coming on the Mexico Sub, we decided to head over to the Curtis Rd to catch the train there. The main reason I wanted to film this crossing is due to the fact that this crossing is one of 7 bell only crossings that still exist on the Mexico Sub. The lone signal was made by The Hall Signal Co. It was originally installed by the Chicago & Alton railroad. The bell at this crossing is a GS Type 1 E bell which undoubtedly replaced the previous mechanical bell that once stood in the E bell's spot. The other 6 bell only crossings on this line all have GS Type 2s. I will at some point try to film the other bell only crossings on this line. Train itself was the EB MKCVN with two gp40-2s trailing.
Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.
