Duck Rd #1, Grandview, MO

Recorded on 2-25-22. Finally got my chance on catching the KCS OCS Special! First time filming in Grandview as well. So I got the word from a couple of friends of mine that the KCS OCS Special was going to be heading north on the Pittsburg Sub. Fortunately I was able to get out of work early enough to go drive down to Grandview to catch it. The OCS Special has been a train I've been wanting to catch since I missed it back in 2019 when it ran on the Mexico Sub. I unfortunately missed it then because I came home from school to change for work since I had to work that night. My chance on finally catching it came to be today. Went over to catch it at Duck Rd #1 since I had some friends that were going to catch it there. Train itself came at around 2:00pm and approached us. Nice sounding horn too. Crossing itself isn't anything special as it's a mid 2000's KCS install that replaced a pair of gateless signals from the Gateway Western era. The crossing in the distance is Duck Rd #2 which is on the former Frisco High Line. That crossing doesn't see any usage anymore since the line dead ends shortly after the crossing (it used to run from KC to Springfield back in the day). Down the line on the former Frisco trackage is the Belton, Grandview, and Kansas City Railroad tourist line. The abandoned track in front of me was a former siding that used to connect to the Pittsburg Sub on the other side of Main St, but KCS ripped out the line sometime in the 2010's. Leaving the little section that crosses the road still intact. No clue if it will eventually get ripped out once the merger happens.
