Harvard Ave #2 Independence, MO

Post by KCMO Railfan »

Finally caught my first Non Amtrak catch of 2020. I like to thank Independence Railfanning on Youtube for letting me know about this train. This crossing has a really quiet gs type 1 e bell which is one of two gs type 1's that exist in Independence. The other bell is at Scott Ave #2 ( which is the crossing you can hear the train blow the horn for). This crossing is located on the KCS Mexico Subdivision. A line that I live just behind.
Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.

Recorded on 5-19-20. Finally caught this crossing in action again. Managed to film on the side with the gs type 1 e bell this time. Note, this is the same train that me and Myles had caught at 12th St #2 in Kansas City on the Pittsburg Sub.

Finally got a video of this crossing in action with the new leds that was installed here last month. Fortunately the GS type 1 is still here.

I managed to get another video of this crossing in action today in the snow. No changes have occurred since I last filmed here in January. Thankfully the video turned out better than the last vid since I'm now using my new Canon Powershot SX740 HS camera I got over the weekend.
