Douglas Street, LaGrange, GA
*originally recorded on 2-12-22*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 8 inch lights, a Safetran Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and an NEG LED gate light.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 8 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and a RECO gate light.
After I025 came through, I got to documenting more crossings around LaGrange, and both lines seemed to go dead. A few hours later, after documenting some of the crossings, I saw that CSX had another southbound lined on the Lineville Sub, so I decided to set-up here and wait. After a bit of waiting, this southbound intermodal came through with an ES44AH pulling on the head-end, and an ET44AH and an ES40DC working as the mid-train DPUs.
This crossing is another nice one, featuring a nice late-70s SCL install that's still largely original. It appears that between 2008 and 2013, the far signal had its original Safetran mechanical bell replaced with the current Safetran Type 2. Thankfully, the closer Safetran bell is still here, and still sounds fairly healthy, so I'm glad to see that. Also nice to see is the remaining incandescent gate light on the closer signal, not too common to find those on CSX lines these days, IMHO.
It appears that this street was originally a public through street that intersected Peachtree Street to the north. However, when the Jackson Beverages place was built (or at least expanded) across where Douglas Street used to be on the north side of the crossing, this southern stub of it became a private street. Never had any issues with anyone while I was here, though that might've been due to the fact that this was a weekend. Not sure if anyone would have any issues should they come on a weekday, but it might be worth noting that this does seem to be private property here.
They/Them for me, please.

Re: Douglas Street, LaGrange, GA
The only change here as of 8-10-25 was that CSX replaced the relay case here with a new one. Nothing has changed to the signals themselves.
