Recorded on 4-16-22. Final vid I took on the Kansas Sub before I headed back to Missouri. After filming 9th St in action, I went over to Swingster Rd to film that crossing in action since it was another one I wanted to film at. I had to wait awhile until the block signal down the tracks kicked on. Fortunately the signal for the far track kicked on for an approaching eastbound. I then saw the train come around the curve to the west of this crossing. I immediately hit the record button right as I saw the train getting ready to approach the crossing. Ended up catching an eastbound loaded coal train with sd70ace 8920 leading. Crossing itself is on the boring side. These signals were installed sometime in 2015 unfortunately replacing a pair of older wch signals with Electro-Tech leds, and two wch e bells. Both signals are pairs of Siemens gate mechs (with the Siemens sticker on the door), GE Dotted leds in safetran frames, and two NEG e bells. The median was added sometime recently. No clue if this crossing will become a quiet zone or not. This wasn't the only crossing with a new setup I have filmed. In the next vid, I return to an iconic spot on the BNSF Marceline Sub that is unfortunately in the process of being updated.
Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.
