Signal on the left: 5 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a US&S Model 95 gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the far right: 1 pair of Safetran 12x20 inch lights.
Signal on the near right: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a US&S Model 95 gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After catching the Amtrak Cascades service, we continued on over to this crossing, which I'd thought was in Puyallup but is actually in the neighboring community of Waller, to wait for a Sounder service that was coming. After a bit of waiting, this southbound Sounder train came through with an MP40PH-3C for power, I believe with this being the first MPI unit I've ever caught. After this, we went back to Bellevue Washington for the remainder of Everfree Northwest.
This crossing is another rather nice one, featuring another old 1970s BN install. Like with the previous crossing, this one had its gate masts replaced with the current ones in the late-90s as part of the upgrades for the Sounder service going in. At around this same time, the far cantilever had the front mast lights realigned and two newer Safetran 12x20s added on to make two pairs of side lights on the mast, light the closer signal had its front-left mast light replaced with another newer Safetran 12x20 as well. Also at this same time or soon after in the 2000s, BNSF also replaced the bell here with a General Signals electronic bell, which remained on the cantilever. Then, sometime after 2015, the bell here was replaced with the current GS Type 3, though I'm not entirely sure when. Since that bell replacement, however, nothing has changed at this crossing.
Hopefully these older BN cantilevers will remain here for many more years to come, but either way, I'm quite glad I was able to record them.
They/Them for me, please.
