*originally recorded on 9-1-22*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights with Electro-tech LEDs, a WCH mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and Electro-tech LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights with Electro-tech LEDs, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and Electro-tech LED gate lights.

After catching the coal train, I knew the Amtrak Missouri River Runner would be coming before too long, so I decided to head on over to this crossing to catch it. After about an hour of waiting, this Amtrak Missouri River Runner came through with an SC-44 leading it, making it the first time I've caught one of these leading.
After this, I got myself some lunch and then made my way on back home to Huntsville, ending my long, but fun, cross-country road trip.
This also wound-up being the last train I'd shoot for nearly 3.5 months, as after this I got busy working on the massive update I was doing for Mike's Railroad Crossing Website, which I posted back on December 13, 2022.

This crossing is another nice crossing, and a pretty decent one to end off on, featuring another early-80s MoPac install. Like with the other two that I filmed on the UP Sedalia Sub on this day, UP replaced the bell on the far signal with the current WCH mechanical bell in the 90s. Then, in the late-2000s, UP upgraded this crossing to LED with all Electro-tech LEDs. Finally, sometime after 2015, UP replaced the bell on the closer signal with the current GS Type 3, and no other changes have occurred to these signals since.
Thankfully, UP hasn't replaced a single LED here, meaning that both signals still retain all of their Electro-tech LEDs, which is rather nice to see, IMHO. The WCH mechanical bell here also still sounds a bit decent, though it is also starting to sound a bit worn-out. Hopefully UP gives it a bit of TLC but otherwise leaves these signals alone for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm glad I got to record this crossing as well.
They/Them for me, please.
