Man on bicycle killed by train

Just catching up on some news in my local newspaper and caught this story from last Friday. The crossing involved has been discussed before here (towards the bottom of the 1st page):

I believe the man was crossing the tracks right next to this signal. Even though the story says he was wearing headphones, I can't believe he couldn't see the activated signals, hear the horn over the music, or for that matter FEEL the train coming. If you ever have stood close to the tracks when a train comes by you know what I mean.

i know where thay area is, and it is hard to beleave he didnt see the signals or hear the train.

dont rule out suicide. Perhaps he didn't care about the train and whacko.
