Cotton Gin Port Road #2, Amory, MS
*originally recorded on 9-7-23*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with General Signals LEDs, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a US&S Model 95 gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights with General Signals LEDs, 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with General Signals LEDs, a US&S Model 95 gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After I got the ethanol train in Nettleton, I continued on south to Amory. Here, after almost an hour of waiting, I was able to get my third train of the day: a southbound BNSF intermodal train with an ES44C4 leading a vandalized ES44DC and another ES44C4 for power.
This crossing is a decent one as well, originally having been a mid-2000s BNSF install. Both signals here looked fairly similar, though the closer one lacked a bell and had a pair of 12x20 inch side lights on it. Sometime between 2019 and 2023, however, the closer signal was replaced with a reused 90s BN signal. However, the replacement signal had the gate mechanism, one pair of 12x24s, and the LEDs reused from the previous signal here. Still a pretty nice crossing though, and I'm glad I was able to film more General Signals LEDs.
