Signal on the left: 2 pairs of US&S 12x20 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, an NEG electronic bell, a WCH gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and an NEG LED gate light.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of US&S 12x20 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a dead WABCO mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
After I caught CSX L809 twice in Tilton, I continued on down to this crossing for M647. After a little bit of waiting here, with it also meeting a northbound empty coal train at Resaca to the north, I was able to catch this CSX M647 rolling south into Calhoun with a CM44AC leading an AC44CW for power.
Sometime between 2017 and 2021, CSX replaced the US&S mechanical bell here with the current NEG electronic bell, along with most of the gate lights being replaced with NEG LEDs, with no other major changes having occurred here. No idea why they replaced the US&S bell here while leaving the long-dead WABCO bell alone, TBH, I would've honestly expected at least the WABCO here to be replaced as well. Either way, these old SBD signals still remain, with their original US&S light-heads and WABCO bell. The front lights on the closer signal appear to have had the LED arrays come out of their gaskets.
