*originally recorded on 7-26-24*

Signal on the left: 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs, 1 pair of Safetran 12x20 inch lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and an NEG LED gate light.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, a RECO LED gate light, and NEG LED gate lights.

After documenting the two new bells in Tallapoosa, I continued east to this crossing in Waco to see if it still retained its mechanical bell. Thankfully, it did, so I set-up here and waited for my first train of the day. After a bit of waiting, I was able to catch this NS A25 rolling west towards the next customer they had to work with a pair of SD60Es for power.

This crossing is a nice one, featuring a mid-90s NS install that's still fairly original. It seems at some point, assuming they aren't original, the front lights on the far signal had their backgrounds swapped-out with the current 24 inch ones. Either way, in the mid-2010s, this crossing was given an LED upgrade by NS along with the rest of the crossings on the NS East End District in Georgia. Thankfully, since then, no major changes appear to have occurred to this crossing.
I'm especially glad to see that the Safetran mechanical bell here is still around, as it's the last surviving mechanical bell on the NS East End District in Georgia. Thankfully this bell still sounds fairly healthy, so hopefully it'll remain here for many more years to come. Regardless, I'm glad I was able to get it filmed.
