*originally recorded on 11-6-24*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.

After I shot NS 286's power in downtown Madison, I hopped on I-565 and made my way towards downtown Huntsville, heading for this crossing first. I heard A81 pass the DD to the northeast of downtown just as I was pulling-up at this crossing, so I got set-up as quickly as possible. Here we see my fourth and final train of the day: NS A81 with an SD40-2 for power.
That being said, this would not be my final video of the day.

A few days prior to this video, I had noticed that Derrick Street got a full set of NEG LED gate lights on the closer signal. As such, I made sure to stop by this crossing on this day to document them. Otherwise, nothing has changed to this crossing since I last filmed it two months prior in September.

*originally recorded on 5-11-26*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.

After getting some sleep, PlyingKibbles89 and vtgrxrman met-up at my house and we all got into Ben's car to do some railfanning in my area with Ben driving and me giving him directions. We went-out to see about chasing the HMCR, and thankfully they were preparing for a run, but were waiting on A81 to interchange with them first. As such, we decided to head over to this crossing to see if A81 was getting close. When we got here, we heard an eastbound train call the signal at Fat Harry's to our west, so we quickly got set-up. Soon after, we were able to catch our fifth train of the day: NS 058, an empty military train, with a BNSF ES44C4 leading a BNSF ES44AC for power! Definitely a bit of a nice surprise to see a military train on this day, even if it was just DODX baretables, lol.

Apparently earlier this year, sometime after I last filmed this crossing back in January, NS replaced the gate arm and gate lights on the far signal. As a result, the far signal now has NEG LED gate lights on it, though I will admit I didn't entirely notice the new gate lights here at the time. Thankfully, absolutely nothing else here appears to have changed to the crossing since I last recorded it.
