Playlist of "Activation Failure" Malfunctions

Post by UPking »

An "activation failure" is a very rare and very serious type of crossing malfunction. My criteria for a malfunction to be considered an "activation failure" includes:

- Signals completely fail to activate for an approaching train
-Signals activate, but deactivate before the train reaches the crossing
- Signals activate after the train reaches the crossing
- Signals give MUCH less than the minimum 20 seconds of warning time
- Signals either completely deactivate while a train is passing or the signals begin the deactivation sequence but manage to reactivate before completely deactivating

Because of the rarity of these malfunctions, I am creating a public playlist of such examples. If you know of any videos not in this playlist, drop the links here. Feel free to add international examples.

Bells go "ding". Lights go "flash". And the WCH Gate Mechanism at Kirkwood Road goes "chigRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr".
