*originally recorded on 2-22-25*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights and a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell.

After catching 224 in Hixson, I decided to chase it north to this crossing just south of Graysville for my next crossing. Thankfully, I was able to beat it here with plenty of time to spare, and here we get to see 224 once again as it flies north into Graysville.

This crossing is another nice one, featuring a pair of gateless signals that were originally installed by the Southern Railway back in the 1970s. In the late-90s or 2000s, NS replaced the bell here with a General Signals e-bell. Then, sometime between 2007 and 2014, NS installed a pair of wayside signals just north of this crossing, moving the control equipment for the crossing from the original SOU relay case here to the new bungalow for the wayside signals, removing the relay case at the same time. Also at the same time, NS remounted the signals onto new foundations and replaced their bases with the current Safetran ones, as well as replacing all of the lights here with the current Safetran 12x20s. Finally, sometime between 2015 and 2020, NS replaced the older GS e-bell here with the current GS Type 3 e-bell. Thankfully, since then, nothing else too major has changed to this crossing.
I must say, I do quite like this angle for northbound trains here as well. The view across the small valley here is also quite nice, and I do love how you can see Coulterville Road curving south towards Sale Creek in the distance too. Definitely one of the more scenic crossings I've been able to record, IMHO.
