*originally recorded on 3-27-25*

Signal on the left: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.

After catching 395 on the west side of Bremen, I hopped back on US 78 again and continued my chase of the train west into Alabama, heading for this crossing in Muscadine. Thankfully, I was able to get ahead of the train by Bremen, and thus I was able to beat it to this crossing with plenty of time to spare. After a several minutes of waiting, I was able to catch NS 395 for the third time on this day, with the crew giving another friendly horn salute as they approached.

This crossing is the easternmost signalized crossing on the NS East End District in Alabama, and it's honestly a pretty decent one. The signals here seem to be a mid-2000s, possibly late-2000s, NS install and are still fairly decently original. In the mid-2010s, or possibly the latter-half of the 2010s, it appears, NS replaced the original Safetran Type 3 e-bell on the closer signal with the current GS Type 2 e-bell. Thankfully, since then, nothing else too major has changed to this crossing, which is nice to see. Amazingly, the crossing even still retains both of its original white ENS signs, which is also quite nice to see, as they're quite a rare sight on active NS crossings these days. This crossing is also thankfully still fully incandescent, and I think this was the only crossing I wound-up filming on this day with incandescent gate lights!
