this summer on my model railroad, i decided to make some non working decoration signals for a crossing. here are some photos and they say what i did.

here is a GP40-2 passing the finished product. i later found another crossbuck and replaced the round sign.

cut the paper ( a business card should work) and glue it to the nail. Next paint the washers black and glue red paper behind them, then assemble.

here are the materials. 4 SMALL washers, 2 long nails, thick paper, and 2 model crossbucks (I only had one so i used a look out for train sign.

not bad, but they needed visors. Good work.

Pretty smart idea if you ask me. Would have never thought to use a nail for the pole... but it does work. The color is right and the top of the nail looks like a pinnacle.

Just watch out for the sharp edge if you have a car derail in the crossing or something. :Smile:
