*originally recorded on 5-21-25*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After catching the northbound intermodal train, vtgrxrman and I hopped on down to this crossing in the neighboring town of Lucy to see about getting it recorded as well. After only a handful of minutes of waiting, we were able to catch our fifth train of the day: a southbound grain train with a trio of SD70M-2s for power! You can also hear the defect detector just north of this crossing reading-out for the train as well.
This crossing is another great one, featuring another late-70s ICG install at it. This crossing was entirely original up until sometime between 2009 and 2012, when CN upgraded the 8 inch lights here to LED. The crossing then remained largely unchanged here until sometime between Ethan's visit here in 2020 and street view passing this crossing again in 2021, when CN replaced the 8 inch lights here with the current Safetran 12x24s with GE Uniform Look LEDs. Thankfully, since then, nothing else too major has changed to this crossing, which is great to see. As a result, it thankfully still retains its original Safetran mechanical bell, which still sounds quite healthy, and original late-70s Safetran gate mechs! Hopefully it too remains unchanged for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm quite glad I got to film it when I did.
