So in a word, yes it is unused.
That segment of the POTB was unaffected by the flood, and there's one freight customer still on the unaffected portion, so that segment of the line will see a little traffic, and only a little.

Closest thing would probably be the 20 year old cantilever on the West side of the Broad Street crossing here in Story City. *shrug* It's hardly anything to write about.
(It's the one in the background, if you couldn't figure it out...)
one of the crossings in Auburn, IL has 2 like that, however they dont look as long. I'll have pics shortly.
Here are the cantilevers. I asked a signal maintainer when they were installed and he said sometime in the 1980's, back then this line was ICG and also Chessie System used it until 1985. I would sure like to know if ICG and or CS installed more of these.
This is pretty much the rarest thing in Morris, but it has an RRS bell! This was taken in Jan 2008 and the bell is still there! Considering many other bells on the line were replaced and they're newer than this bell.
The Griswolds from Main Street are still there at the depot, but out of service. County B and Williams Point Drive have both received new 12" x 24" lightheads with L.E.D.s since the pictures on the site were taken, but Williams remains 8" and incandescent, for now.

I haven't seen those signals in Auburn in action in a long time. Do they now have the dotted LED's as the rest of the signals along this line do? I see the gate lights are now LED.
they do have dotted LEDs. I heard they were upgraded in october from regular lights, Also, the bells ring from startup to when the signals deactivate due to being attatched to the cantilever.

If memory serves me correctly the gates were added later on... that would be why the gates are mounted in front of the cantilevers instead of behind them. Could be why the bells are wired that way too.
