Durand Highway (GA 194), near Warm Springs, GA
*originally recorded on 2-13-22*
Signal on the left: 3 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights, 1 pair of WCH 12x24 inch lights, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights, 1 pair of WCH 12x24 inch lights, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
After I caught I198 in Stovall, I continued on documenting crossings along the Lineville Sub. When I got here, the next signalized crossing south, I actually found I198 passing through it, but I didn't think too much of it, and just parked near the crossing once that cleared. However, after I got out and began documenting it, I heard a train horn to my north, and quickly set-up my camera. Not too long after, this Q203 came through with an ES44AH leading an ES40DC and an AC44CW.
This crossing is a pretty nice one, featuring what I believe is the last working pair of GS Type 1s on the Lineville Sub. It appears that these signals were originally installed by the SBD back in the 1980s, but, later on in that same decade, the closer signal's cantilever was replaced with the current one by CSX. Then, in the late-90s, CSX replaced both of the WCH mechanical bells here with the current GS Type 1s. Since then, thankfully, no major changes have occured here.
I do honestly quite like this crossing, even if, admittedly, it might not be "as interesting" as some of the other crossings on the Lineville Sub. I do quite like the equipment used here, as I always love older WCH gate mechs like these and I always like GS Type 1s. I honestly hadn't been expecting GS Type 1s here, but since there's a nice-sounding pair of them here, I'm quite glad I was able to get this crossing recorded. Hopefully it remains unchanged for many more years to come.
They/Them for me, please.

After catching M605 with the WM sticker unit leading, I stuck around at this crossing to film M209 again. After a little bit of waiting, I was able to catch CSX M209 rolling past once again.
It appears that the only change here since I last filmed this crossing back in 2022 has been that two of the gate lights on the closer signal here were replaced with NEG LED gate lights, which, admittedly, I didn't entirely notice at the time. Thankfully, nothing else appears to have changed here, and it's nice to see that the older SBD and CSX equipment here still remains, especially the WCH gate mechs and GS Type 1 pair. I'm definitely glad I was finally able to film this crossing on the side with the older MI cantilever, however.
