After catching the Memphis siren test, I decided to head back up to the CN Fulton Subdivision to see if I could film some more crossings. I was originally heading to a crossing in Millington when a northbound beat me to it, so I decided to chase it further north to this crossing in Covington to catch it. Thankfully I was able to beat it here with plenty of time to spare, and here we get to see my third train of the day: a northbound CN grain train with a lone SD70M-2 for power.

This crossing is another nice one, featuring a late-1970s ICG install that's still decently original. In the 2000s, it appears, CN replaced the bell here with a GS e-bell. Then, in the late-2000s/early-2010s, CN upgraded this crossing to LED. Finally, sometime between 2016 and when EthantheRailfanner first visited this crossing in 2020, CN replaced the bell here with the current GS Type 3 e-bell. Thankfully, since then, nothing has changed to this crossing, which is nice to see. Glad to see this crossing still retains its original late-70s Safetran gate mechs and Safetran 8 inch light heads, hopefully it retains both for many more years to come. Either way, I'm glad I was able to get this crossing recorded, and now I've filmed all of the remaining 8 inch crossings in the city of Covington. I must say, the backgrounds on the lights here are also quite nicely faded, IMHO.
