On May 1st, vtgrxrman and I went up to Kentucky for the night to get some siren tests out in western Kentucky. While on our way to Providence for the Webster County test, I decided to swing by this crossing just south of Crofton to get it recorded. After a bit of waiting, we were able to catch my first train of the day: CSX M513 with an ES44AH leading a CM44AC for power. Admittedly, I kinda would've preferred catching a northbound here with the angle this crossing's at, but it's still better than nothing!

This crossing is honestly a pretty nice one, and I'm glad I got to record it. It appears the signals at this crossing were originally installed by the L&N back in the 1930s or 1940s, though, in the 1970s, the far signal was replaced entirely with the current one (along with possibly the relay case at about the same time). Then, in the 2000s (it appears), CSX replaced all of the lights here with the current Safetran 12x24s. Finally, sometime in the latter-half of the 2010s, CSX upgraded this crossing to LED. Thankfully, since then, absolutely nothing appears to have changed to these signals, which is nice to see. I'm especially glad to see that the closer signal still uses an old Peerless Manufacturing Corp. mast, especially as I can't imagine that there are too many of those left around. Nice to get another bell-less crossing along this line filmed, I believe there's still one more along it that I have yet to film.
