Re: Best/favorite class 1 Railroad
CN, CP, and KCS were missing from the list, so I enabled those, resetting the voting.

I voted CN/GTC

None of 'em. They all like to abandon and rip up far too much good track.

CP. They are relatively railfan-friendly compared to most other Class I railroads, at least in my experience. They are also slower about upgrading their crossings compared to CN and UP, and although they have mostly caught up in the last couple of years, they left a few sets of 8" clear L.E.D.s alone.
The only beef I have with them is their bland current paint scheme...I'd like their ES44ACs a lot better if they had put some form of the "Golden Beaver" or "Dual Flags" logo on them...or even an updated "Pac-Man" if they wanted to go retro. Solid red with the words "Canadian Pacific" in white gets kind of boring, especially when every frickin' train is led by an ES44AC. Only their recent purchase of the DME/ICE and the presence of their SD40-2/3s on a couple trains each day provides a little motive power variety on the general manifest freights.

Good, that means there will be one less to get in the way of a perfectly photogenic SD40-2 or GP38 around here!
