UMM OK
bnsf isnt the only one that fixes bells
the best class 1 in America Union Pacific does the same thing
safetran m-bells are VERY unreliable and frequently break down all you have to do is fix the contracts and clean the bell and it works again
Come visit UP's east-west mainline and Spine Line here in Iowa. You won't see any mechanical bells. UP replaced them with e-bells several years ago, even the ones that were in perfectly good condition.
well Union Pacific use wch e-bells much better than gs
but iam talking over all
up has WAY more m-bells than bnsf
me and trainmanalex2 are haveing ww3 over the best railroad and he thinks its bnsf when its up
No railroad is the best no railroads suck In reality they come together to form this perfect nation. In my opinion BNSF is the best and UP sucks. but they dont really suck in reality there helping build this country. To trainmankight: If you think any railroad sucks that isn't so all of them are doing good deeds and all of them have issues. I believe A railroad is a railroad. God bless this country and railfans and all railroads.
bigphilliestyle2000 wrote:okay somebody help me understand, what makes one railroad better than the other? what are you basing your opinions on?
oh and the wch eballs do sound like garbage, though id put my vote in !
I'm basing my opinions on how railroads treat their employees...the way they run the trains and such. NS (aka Nazi Southern) seems to be the worst with employees...and I don't care for them mainly because of that A-hole David Goode (retired CEO) wanting to absorb Conrail...that did it for me with NS. He basically nagged them until they decided to let NS buy them up...what a crock.
CN...on the other hand...has really good shifts...treats their employees well...and everything seems to be kept up in good shape. I did like BN and SF...but that was when they were seperate...

Actually, CNW started that trend before UP went full great guns doing that. The spine has quite a few ASC E-Bells on it, and a few of the county road crossings still have M-Bells yet as well. To be honest, looking at the crossings around this area... you will find most non-gated flashing light signals do not an E-bell yet... (Thankfully) But yeah, gated ones mainly have those God-awful sounding WCH eardrum bleeders.
Yep. BNSF has 10 mechanical bells on the Ennis sub, along with 6 more mechanical bells (that I know of) on other spur lines in Glendale. Those are the only 16 mechanical bells on BNSF that I know of that are left in Arizona.
