Local Shell is getting antsy...was $2.79 for quite some time and now it's up to $2.83. Most other stations are between $2.65 and $2.75.
You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.

 That can't be right. If it's only $2.89 here and gas is always cheaper down there!

It's not right. I did a little checking on-line.

According to GasBuddy.com as of tonight (09/11): Houston & Dallas TX are both averaging $2.19. Austin, TX is at $2.37. San Antonio is at $2.29. El Paso is at $2.41.

Prices in Ames back up .10/gallon this week to 2.39. Perhaps the stations in town are looking to cash in on the extra traffic this weekend for the Superbowl of Iowa... Iowa @ Iowa State.

Prices have trickled down a bit in town. Some are as low as $2.63, others are still in the $2.70s. The range for the whole area goes from $2.51-$2.99 (pretty big range, IMO), with the average being $2.67. They remained constant for the longest time, finally changing earlier this week.

Little change in Prescott Valley from what I reported on weeks ago.

Down to $2.53 without discounts now.

Most stations are at $2.45 around Stoughton lately. I got $0.20/gallon off at BP with my "Roundy's Rewards" card.
