This video from our some-time resident Brent (he's here somewhere...) confirms that the A-gates are gone, but the signals remain 8" L.E.D. with a mechanical bell.

I still wonder why those still work on a defunct crossing like that? It's still cool to have it though, with 8" LEDs as they are.

That seems to happen a lot.

I've seen it quite a few times where the road was closed and the crossing itself removed (the wood or concrete part)... yet the crossing signals are still there and still activate.

This one time back in the 80's an overpass was put in over the tracks which closed a major crossing. Two years after the overpass was finished the crossing signals where still there under the overpass and still operated when a train came by. They were even maintained still... burned out light bulbs were replaced!! :Confused:
