Yeah I know no one will pick those lousy Gevos or trash 9's but SD70ACe's ALL THE WAY

Of the choices given, SD20, even though it's an aftermarket rebuild and not a designation ever issued by EMD. At near-idle speed their exhaust "chugged" like a steam locomotive, and they had a distinct throaty growl (and accompanying spray of black smoke and oil) when under load.

A close second would be the GP7/9. I wish I would have thought to photograph these when the Wisconsin and Southern still operated them.

My favorite model isnt listed (SD9). but of all of those choices, i pick the SD70ACe

my 2 favorites are not on here. GP40-2W and SD26. GO GUILFORD RAIL SYSTEM!
